The White House

When I was growing up we used to call this “The White House” because it was, well, white, and Jimmy Carter lived there. Obviously not the former president …

My mom told me tonight while we were eating that the fire department is going to be burning it down in a training exercise soon, so I figured I’d better take some photos of it while I had the chance. I always liked it … I’m a fan of this era of farm houses.

There have been way too many cool old farmhouses around where I grew up that have been left to decay and are either falling down or have been torn down in the last few years.

Where is the house located? It’s not the haunted house is it?

No, this one is in much better shape than the haunted house was the last time I saw it (which has been at least 15 years I guess).

If you are going towards Youngsville from my parents’ house, it’s on the right … it’s the third house after my parents.
