It’s been a really, really long Monday. So long that it’s lasted until about 3 a.m. on Tuesday. I even almost went to bed, and realized I still had something to do yet. Whew.
When you have this kind of day, you need some humor. Whenever I find I need some humor, I go a YouTube and find a NewsRadio clip.
I think that’s my second favorite clip, after the “Super Karate Monkey Death Car” clip …
I love Newsradio. It was one of the most consistently funny shows on the air. The cast had great chemistry too. It fell apart after Phil Hartman died.
I can’t think of another show where the entire regular cast was as strong and integral to the show as NR. Sure, it managed to do well after Khandi Alexander left despite the way she played well off of Hartman, but it wasn’t quite the same. Phil Hartman was truly the best part though … I don’t think there is another TV character that can compare with Bill McNeal. Jon Lovitz tried, but it just didn’t work.
NR is probably one of the most under-appreciated shows to ever air.
Now if I can just convince TBN to air reruns again … I’ve still got my DVR set to record ‘em no matter what station they pop up on.
