For those of you who are interested in reading a pretty straightforward defense of government non-intervention in economics, I recommend you check out What Has Government Done to Our Money? by Murray Rothbard. Rothbard was the director of the Ludwig von Mises Institute at Auburn University. It’s available online, as a PDF, and as a .LIT eBook, so not being able to afford it is not an excuse for not reading it.

In the last few months, I’ve found economics to be profoundly interesting. Too bad I had a horribly boring blowhard as an economic professor back in my days in college … otherwise I might have been more knowledgeable on the subject at an earlier date. The common-sense, easy-to-understand texts published by the Mises Institute are going a long way towards remedying that, though.
