This fellow was offering carriage rides around downtown Raleigh when Brian and I were downtown last Saturday. I don’t remember every encountering something like this before … and I think it’s cool that it’s available.
Honestly, I think downtown Raleigh is changing for the better. From my perch afar (first in Black Mountain, and now in Chattanooga) I thought that de-malling Fayetteville Street was a bad idea. I always thought the mall was pretty cool.
But, having encountered the newly re-opened street twice now (once at night with my brother, and then Saturday with Brian) I can honestly say that it makes downtown seem more “alive … and as if that wasn’t enough, the whole area seems safer. I like that.
