Letter from Vonage

Today I got a nice letter in the mail from the CEO of Vonage. He wanted to thank me for my loyalty to his company. I have helped make them the #1 VOIP provider in North America, or so this polite letter said. He also offered me the opportunity to save $50 off my future bills by referring a friend!

I find that to be quite amusing since I cancelled my account about three and a half weeks ago.

That being said, I was definitely pleased with Vonage’s service. I rarely had problems with it. The only reason I dropped the account and switched to Lingo (my current VOIP provider) is that Lingo had local Asheville numbers. The closest cities Vonage offered numbers in were Boone, Maiden, and (I think) Franklin. However, once I signed up for Lingo, I discovered that they in addition to being able to call the US and Canada for free, you can also call pretty much all of Western Europe (except cell phones). So, since Rachel does a lot of work with some folks in Germany, this works out well for us …
