Well, hello world! This is my first shot at a personal blog (though I actually started one for web development type stuff over at IntuiWORX.com). This one, though, will be a little more personal. I’m likely to reflect on theology, show some photos I took, or just be completely random. Hopefully I’ll add stuff here on what might be considered to be a fairly regular basis. We’ll see what happens …
So … my name is Jeremy Clifton. I just got married in November of ‘04 (11-27-2004, to be specific). My wife’s name is Rachel.
I’m a ‘new’ Lutheran … after spending the first twenty-odd years of my life in Southern Baptist churches, I woke up one day and realized that I was really a Lutheran.
Well, no, not really. That’s not exactly how it worked. It was a long process … and perhaps one day I’ll write about it. But not right now, because I’m supposed to be going out and getting milk and various other items from the grocery store. So I’d better make this quick.
I’m a programmer by profession … I specifically work with interactive web sites. Generally PHP/MySQL, but I also work with Perl at times too. I’m always expanding my toolset, and currently I’m working with Ruby, as well as learning some GUI programming RealBasic … which is a really nifty way to develop cross-platform apps pretty quickly. You can compile apps for Mac OS 9, Mac OS X, Linux, and Windows all at once. Pretty nice. C++ or Java it ain’t, but it works, and I’m not ashamed to say that I like it. It works for a specific need, and that’s what tools are all about.
OK, time for me to head to the store …
